Brazilian police have recovered the fourth and final piece of artwork that was stolen during a heist at the Estacao Pinacoteca Museum in Sao Paulo. On June 12 three armed thieves walked into the Pinacoteca and held security guards at gunpoint while they stole the artwork.
The stolen paintngs were Picasso’s “The Painter and the Model,” Emiliano DiCavalcanti’s “Women at the Window,” Lasar Segall’s “Couple, and Picasso’s “Minotaur, Drinker and Women,” which was the final piece recovered. According to the Sao Paulo state Culture Secretariat, the works are worth around $633,000. This was the second theft in less than a year of picasso works in Brazil.
